Rexona Confidence Project: Winners Announced

Rexona recently presented Iya Acuña and Anya Ong as the winners of the Rexona Confidence Project. Embodying the confidence of the Rexona women, these two former cheerleaders and college buddies will star in Rexona’s first online YouTube series and will get the chance to bring home P500,000.

Iya is 21 years old and she is a headhunter for an employment agency, while Anya is a writer and producer for one of the major television networks. Their video entry bested other entries from almost a hundred pairs of women who joined the challenge. As the winning pair, Iya and Anya will take part in Rexona’s 30-day Confidence Challenge, which will run until August 1, 2012. The daily adventures of these two young women will be uploaded to Rexona’s YouTube’s channel and Facebook page everyday.

Joining Iya and Anya in some of their challenging but fun adventures are sisters Maxene and Saab Magalona. Adding excitement and girl power is Jasmine Curtis-Smith who will also join the girls in one of their challenges.

The Rexona Confidence project is more than just fun and adventure. The campaign aims to encourage young women to live each day with confidence.  “We are proud to say that there is a deeper purpose behind the fun and adventure of the Rexona Confidence Project,” says Rexona brand manager Anne Remulla. “Not only do we inspire young women to be confident, we also encourage them to step out of their comfort zones and take risks. We want them to make the most out of every day and embrace life’s exciting possibilities.”

The launch event, hosted by celebrity DJs Andi Manzano and Jessica Mendoza, was attended by sisters Maxene and Saab Magalona, who were accompanied by their mom Pia. Also present to lend their support were Unilever marketing manager for Deos and Oral Care Cindy Melocoton-Manlapaz, PR and events manager Nikki Abella, Rexona assistant brand manager Mara Llanera and management trainee Aimee Bacallan.

Follow the fun and exciting adventures of Iya and Anya as they take on their 30-day challenge to see if they indeed deserve to be called the Rexona Confidence Girls at www.youtube.com/rexonaphilippines and be inspired to live a life less ordinary.

Working Homebased, Laptop or Desktop?

I remember posting this article on my other blog before and got a lot of feedback from my readers.  Now, I own a laptop, thanks to the help of my readers and through this buying and selling online site.

If you frequent my blog, you will know by then that I work as a BPO agent, a medical-slash-legal transcriptionist in particular.   Most of you might think that I work homebased, but I'm not.  I work in an office environment.

Last year my mom left us, so I have difficulty managing my time between work and family.  I also began to have financial difficulties.

During those moments, I started thinking of doing something on my own, a homebased job.  I first researched on the ups and downs of working at home and the things needed to start with.
First thing on the list, of course, is a desktop computer or a laptop.  I do not own one now, guys, so please help me weigh those two.

With nothing to lose, I searched the net one day for cheap laptops, and by chance, I landed on AyosDito.Ph.  I find it easy to browse the items because the sellers have pictures of their items, and just below the products you can view the prices immediately.  I always look first on the price (price matters even when I go to grocery stores, haha).

Would it be a laptop or a desktop?  Which do you think is more comfortable to work with for a homebased job?  I need your expertise, techie readers.  Help me in my entrepreneural journey.

Though I do not earn that much online yet, the thing is I enjoy it.  I still work in the office but working online has become more fun.
